True or myth about coca- cola bottle patent?

i have heard that they have forgotten to patent coca- cola bottle so some guys searched through patent list and found out that there is no coca- cola bottle in that list. later on they went to int patent board and tell them that they want to have right to it (bottle). when they got the stamp, and when it was "proven" that they have right to coca- cola bottle, they went to coca- cola executives and tell them that either they (coca- cola executives) cant use their trademarked patent or to give them cash. so coca- cola gave tham a lot of money cuz bottle was known for many years and they couldnt afford it to replace it...
