Did famous geniuses with ADHD take medication?

A lot of famous geniuses had ADHD like Albert Einstein, John F. Kennedy, Abraham Lincoln, Mozart, Leonardo da Vinci, Bill Gates etc. and they were able to take advantage of their ADHD and become very successful. The older ones wouldn't have taken medication but how about Bill Gates and JFK etc. did they take adhd meds? If they did, was it their meds that helped them achieve so much?
