What would happen if Canada abolished the monarchy?

Would a new monarchy be put in place that wouldn't include Queen Elizabeth II? Or would the prime minister just get more power or would the head of state be declared a president? Also how likely is it an abolishing of the monarchy could take place in Canada? Would you be in favour of it? Thanks for answering! :)
